Who can volunteer at Frias?
Frias PTO relies on dedicated adult and student volunteers to encourage and support the enrichment of students at Frias Elementary. We welcome anyone interested in volunteering, including grandparents, caretakers, siblings, friends, and community members. Parents and guardians of students are especially encouraged to get involved, as volunteering can enhance both their experience and their child’s.

Volunteer Opportunities:
General - making copies, helping in a classroom, assemble take home kits for teachers
Hospitality - welcoming new parents, provide/serve lunch to teachers
Special Events at School - Career Week, Multicultural Night, Book Fair
Curriculum/Enrichment - support the Choir or Spring Musical, Math or Literacy Night
Fundraising - Fun Run planning, decorating, helping with Box Tops for Education, flyer distribution, solicit donations
Parent/School Communication - website management, social media, Class Dojo communication, taking picture during events
Serve on the PTO Executive Board or become a Committee Leader/Member
Volunteer fingerprinting process required under state law:
The 2019 Nevada Legislature passed Senate Bill 195, which makes it easier to volunteer at Clark County School District (CCSD) schools. The bill clarifies requirements for parents and members of the community to volunteer at schools.
Badged Volunteers: To volunteer during the school day or on field trips, you must be a badged volunteer. Click here to apply to be a badged volunteer; once you apply, please notify Ms. Anderson at anderjn@nv.ccsd.net. If you have any questions or need to renew your badge, please contact CCSD HR at volunteers@nv.ccsd.net and include Frias ES in your message; they may also be reached at 702-799-2992 option 1. If you already have a badge and are due for your yearly sticker/update, please complete this Google Form.
Other Opportunities: We have many events/activities that do not require badges, which we would could use/would love your participation. Please reach out to PTO for more information on how to get involved at friaspto@gmail.com.
*Financial Assistance for the background check and fingerprinting process application fee is available to those interested in serving with the Frias PTO for a minimum of one year.
